JackParticipantMy father built this trading business over twenty years and it runs well in a lot of ways but the one area that was always just kind of held together with good intentions and informal arrangements is the storage and transport side of things. He had relationships with people, things got moved, stuff got stored, and it worked because the volume was manageable and everyone knew each other. Now that I’m more involved and we’re actively trying to grow the operation beyond Ajman I keep bumping into the fact that none of it is systematized in any way that scales. Last month alone we had two instances where goods were loaded into the wrong vehicle configuration because there was no standardized crating that matched our transport setup, and that kind of thing gets expensive and embarrassing quickly. A contact who runs a logistics company suggested I discover commercial storage and transport systems that are actually designed to work together as an integrated setup rather than treating crating and transport as completely separate decisions, which was a perspective shift I hadn’t considered before. While researching local suppliers I found CrateCo Pack LLC listed on a UAE business directory and they appear to operate specifically in the industrial packaging and storage space in Ajman which makes them relevant to what I’m trying to build out. Before I start reaching out to suppliers though I’m wondering whether it makes sense to map out our full transport and storage workflow on paper first so I can have a more informed conversation, or whether a good supplier will essentially help you do that assessment as part of the process.
