A factory reset should also be performed on your PS4 if the software of your PS4 has been corrupted or after you have already performed an update on your PS4, but the update was not successful. A factory reset on your PS4 will restore your PS4 to its original factory settings, and this will require you to delete all of your saved games and files on your PS4.
